Reflection

All things will have an impact on another. Architecture impacts the landscape
and vice versa the landscape can have an impact on the architecture. In assignment 1
I explored the theme of organic growth where 'the fence' was seen as an organism which
creates boundaries through growth and entanglement. In assignment 2 'the organic fence'
represents nature and how the power of nature can shape architecture. Although in
assignment 2 the architectural form becomes the victim, there can also be a harmonious
relationship between the two (built form and nature) to create organic architecture that
responds to the landscape. In assignment 3 I will explore this relationship further.

In the previous assignments I used simple modeling elements, such as the use of splines,
basic shapes, material maps, cameras and various lighting effects. I used various modifiers
such as mesh edit, bend, twist, pathdeform, xform, noise, ffdbox, uvwmap and so on.
These modeling techniques are not too complex however they do the job. In assignment 3
I plan to use a few extra techniques in order to create slightly more detailed and complex
models, such as reactor, video maps, HRDI maps, more advanced lighting techniques
and so on.
